CFM and fan size: the math

Need: 1 CFM per sq ft minimum. 4x7 = 28 CFM minimum, but humid Moroccan baths need 100-150 CFM 6-inch or 8-inch fan for 5-min steam clear. Undersized 4-inch 60 CFM runs 30 min and still leaves fog.

Buy: 8-inch 150 CFM with backdraft shutter + ball bearing (not bush — bush seizes in 18 months). Noise under 35 dB or family switches it off. Cost MAD 280-480. Duct: rigid 4-inch to shaft or window, max 10 ft + 1 bend. Flexible foil crushed to 2 bends = 50% loss.

Wire to light + timer run-on 10 min (MAD 90 timer). Fan that stops with light leaves 80% moisture behind.

Window + fan combos

With window: exhaust opposite window for cross-flow, keep window 2-inch open during shower + fan on. Frosted louver glass gives privacy + airflow even closed.
