Privacy, simply

Because trust is the foundation of every meaningful space — digital or physical.

I believe in transparency. This page explains what information Beyond Design collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. It’s written in plain words, not legalese, because a journal about dwelling deeper should also respect your digital shelter.

1. What information is collected

When you visit this journal, a few things may be gathered:

  • Newsletter email address – only if you choose to subscribe. I keep it until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form details – your name, email, and message, used only to reply to you. These are never added to a marketing list without your permission.
  • Anonymous usage data – like which pages are read and how you found the journal. This is collected through a privacy‑friendly analytics tool (no personal identifiers).

No accounts, no passwords, no sensitive data. You can read everything here without giving a single detail.

2. Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies — small text files that help things work smoothly. They might remember that you’ve seen the cookie notice or keep the newsletter form from appearing twice. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, and the journal will still read perfectly.

3. How your information is used

  • To send you the newsletter – a quiet, occasional email with new essays. Nothing else.
  • To respond to your messages – I read every note and reply personally.
  • To understand what resonates – anonymous page statistics help me know which topics to explore next.

Your information is never sold, traded, or rented to anyone. This journal has no advertisers and no third‑party data deals.

4. Where your data lives

Newsletter subscriptions are stored with a reputable email provider (I’ll name the specific one if you ask). Contact form messages arrive directly in my email inbox. I keep both behind strong, unique passwords and two‑factor authentication.

5. How long information is kept

  • Newsletter subscription – until you unsubscribe or the list becomes inactive.
  • Contact messages – typically archived after the conversation ends, and permanently deleted within two years.
  • Anonymous analytics – aggregated data may be kept indefinitely; individual visit logs are rotated regularly.

6. Your rights

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with one click.
  • Request to see, update, or delete any personal data I hold about you.
  • Ask questions about this policy — I’ll answer clearly and quickly.

Just write to [email protected]. There are no forms to fill, no hoops.

7. Changes to this policy

If anything changes, I’ll note it here with a date. The spirit won’t change: your privacy is part of the calm this journal aims to create.
